Accademia Galán

In 2022 the Dolci Accenti association founded the Early Music Academy named after the musician Cristóbal Galán, dedicated to young talents who wish to deepen their study and practice of early music. Since then its teaching has also extended to the training of several baroque orchestral groups in Sassari, Olbia, Vicenza and Caltanissetta, and it has joined the Early Music Youth Orchestra & Academies project, directed by Dr. Alberto Sanna, which has also united several academies, including the London String Academy.

We wanted to give talented young performers a space for training and exchange, to explore the use of original instruments, performance practice, and the research and comparison of sources. The results will give them greater visibility and the ability to express themselves in live concerts. By filling this gap, Sassari is brought to the centre of early music production, also with music by forgotten composers, brought back to light and never performed again. Several concerts have been held, including in Vicenza, Sassari, London and Caltanissetta.
